ServicesLight Jet Charter
Light Jet Charter in Shelbyville
A light jet is the right size for a small group going a few states away. It is faster than a turboprop and costs less to fly than a midsize. We match the aircraft to your trip and give you one all-inclusive quote before you commit.

What a light jet is good for
Light jets seat about four to seven passengers. Most cruise for two to three and a half hours before they need fuel, which covers much of the Midwest, the Southeast and the East Coast without a stop. They can also use shorter runways than bigger jets, so you can often land closer to where you are going.
The trade-off is space. The cabin is snug, you can't stand up straight in most of them, and bag room is limited. Some have a private lavatory and some have only a basic one. If you are flying three people to a meeting in Nashville or a family to a lake trip, that is usually fine. If you are flying eight people with golf bags, we will point you toward a Midsize Jet Charter instead.
The best light jet trips get booked a week or more out. That gives us time to compare aircraft and find a plane already near you, and it keeps the price where it should be.
What comes with your light jet charter
Aircraft matched to your group
We ask how many passengers, how many bags and where you are going. Then we find light jets that fit, not just whatever is open that day.
An all-inclusive quote
Your quote includes the aircraft, crew, fuel, federal excise tax and the usual airport and FBO fees. There are no hidden costs added after you sign.
One-way pricing
We use point to point pricing. If you only need to go one way, you never pay round trip pricing for a plane flying home empty on your dime.
Pets and WiFi
Pets are allowed on board. We can also look for WiFi equipped aircraft if you need to work in the air, and we will tell you up front which planes have it.
Departure details handled
We confirm your FBO, departure time, crew names and ground arrangements, then send it all to you in plain language before the trip.
Signs a light jet fits your trip
Six or fewer people
Light jets work best for small groups. Once you pass six or seven, comfort drops fast and a bigger cabin makes more sense.
Two to three hours away
Trips in this range are the light jet's sweet spot. Much shorter, and a Turboprop Charter may save you money. Much longer, and a fuel stop starts to eat your time.
A small airport on the other end
If your meeting or rental is near a regional field with a short runway, a light jet can often get in where larger jets can't.
Light packing
A few roller bags and briefcases fit fine. Skis, golf clubs and big coolers may not, so tell us early and we will check the bag space on each aircraft.
A same-day round trip for work
Fly out in the morning, meet, and fly back that evening. Light jets keep this kind of day affordable for a small team.
How a light jet trip comes together
- 1
You call and give us the basics
Dates, times, passengers, bags, pets and where you want to fly. Five minutes on the phone is usually enough. If plans are still loose, that is fine. Give us a range and we will work with it.
- 2
We price real aircraft
We check light jets based close to your departure, compare operators and send you options with one all-in number for each. We explain why one costs more than another.
- 3
You confirm and we lock it in
Once you choose, we book the aircraft and crew and send your trip sheet. No long term commitments. You are paying for this flight only.
- 4
Day of departure
Arrive at the FBO about 15 to 20 minutes before your departure time. Park near the building, meet the crew and walk to the plane. No security lines and no gate. Folks driving in from Greenwood or Franklin can plan their drive around that short window.
- 5
Wheels down
Your ground ride can be waiting at the FBO on the other end. If your return time shifts, call us and we will work it out with the crew.
What moves the price of a light jet
Light jet pricing comes mostly from hours in the air, but a few other things matter. Here is what we look at when we build your quote. Booking early gives us room to keep each of these in check.
- Flight time
- The longer the flight, the higher the cost. Headwinds and routing count too, so two trips of the same distance can price a little differently.
- Where the aircraft starts
- If the closest available light jet is two hours away, someone pays to bring it here. Booking ahead lets us find a plane already nearby.
- Wait time and overnights
- If the crew waits for you or stays overnight, there may be crew and parking costs. We list them in the quote so nothing comes as a surprise.
- Dates and demand
- Holidays, big sporting events and peak travel weekends book up fast. Winter trips can also add de-icing at departure, which we note when the season calls for it.
- Airport and FBO fees
- Some airports and FBOs charge more than others. We often know a nearby field that saves you money with little extra drive.
Common questions about light jets
Something not covered here? (317) 620-3508
How many passengers fit in a light jet?
Usually between four and seven. Luggage room tends to run out before seats do, so let us know what you are bringing and we will choose an aircraft with space for it.
Is my dog welcome on board?
Yes, pets can fly. Tell us how many you have and how big they are when you call, and we will make sure the plane and crew are ready for them.
Does it have to be a round trip?
No. Our pricing is point to point, so a one-way flight gets a one-way quote. When an empty leg is headed near your route, we will let you know. Our Empty Leg Flights page explains how they work.
Will there be a restroom?
That varies by model. Some light jets have a closed-off lavatory, while others have a simple seat behind a curtain. Tell us if it matters and we will quote only aircraft with the setup you prefer.
Can you set up a flight on short notice?
Our phone is answered day and night. A light jet can often be found quickly, though there are fewer to pick from and the cost may run higher. A week or more of notice gives you more choices.

Tell us your dates and who is coming. We will find light jets that fit and give you one all-inclusive number to work with.
